Niagara Falls , ON – The city of Niagara Falls is preparing to host its annual Spring Festival -- a celebration of spring, enjoying nature and the beauty of the blossoms throughout the entire Niagara Parks. The festival begins on May 19 and runs to June 30 with a variety of activities and entertainment for the entire family.

Pizza Pizza Fireworks and Coca Cola Concert Series
Canada 's longest running fireworks series will light up the skies every Friday, Sunday and holiday at 10:00 p.m. , from May 19 to October 8, preceded by our Coca Cola Concert Series at 8 p.m. The concert series will run to Labour Day weekend ending on Sunday September 3rd. It's the perfect family outing!

Cirque Niagara ~ May 20 - October 8
AVAIA
, the new $10-million production will feature world-class cirque performers, equestrian theatrical riders and some of the world's rarest breeds of horses. Located under the Big Top (at Rapidsview Park ), the show will entertain 1500 guests twice a day, six days a week (excludes Mondays).  

The 7 th Annual Vineyard Cycle Tour & Challenge ~ May 28
Test your endurance on one of three (25, 50, 75 km) routes and enjoy the beauty of the Niagara Parkway and the many wineries along the way. Last year, over 800 cyclists and volunteers took part in the cycle tour, returning to the historic Queenston Heights Park for a picnic lunch, wine tasting, prizes and entertainment. 140 th Anniversary Fenian Raid ~ June 3 & 4
Relive the past at Old Fort Erie when the ruins of the Fort became a tactical stronghold during the Fenian Raids of 1866. Marking the 140 th Anniversary of the largest Fenian (Irish Republican) Raid into Canada , the ruins of Old Fort Erie were used as a base of operation for the Fenians. Over 1000 Irish Republican Army men made it into Canada West (present day Ontario ) during this raid and fought the Canadian Militia at Ridgeway and Bridgeburg between June 1 st and 3 rd 1866, before withdrawing to Buffalo , New York . Battles will be reenacted on Saturday June 3 rd and Sunday June 4 th at 1:30 p.m. and on Saturday at 1 p.m. Lincoln Alexander will unveil a provincial plaque from the Ontario Heritage Trust. Featured entertainment in the band shell includes Fiddlers Three, Harpist Carol Farrar and The Irish Dance Troop performing on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Art in the Gardens ~ June 9, 10 & 11; July 8 & 9; August 12 & 13
The annual Spring Festival Art Show will be held in conjunction with the Niagara Flower & Garden Show. Featuring artwork by local Artisans from the Parkway Artist Guild, see the beauty of various art forms showcased in the dazzling manicured Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens and Arboretum. Kids can also try their hand at their own masterpieces using the natural beauty of the garden as their subject. Visitors and art enthusiasts alike can saunter at leisure through the exhibits that are pleasantly laid out along the walkways that run throughout the 99 acre garden. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

RCMP Officer Meet and Greet ~ beginning June 23
Canada is known for many things but nothing is more notable than the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Come to Table Rock House, located at the brink of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls during the summer on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to meet a RCMP officer for photos and to answer questions. Don't forget to bring your camera!

2-Nation Celebration ~ July 1 to July 4
Celebrate the birth of two great nations at the only bi-national wonder in North America ! Daytime activities include interactive theatre performances and sampling opportunities from some of Canada 's leading corporations with hot performances from some of North America 's leading musicians and spectacular fireworks. Don't miss the newly commissioned fireworks music specifically created for the Niagara Falls fireworks to be performed by the Niagara Symphony on July 1 st along with choreographed fireworks display at 10 p.m.

Living History Weekend at Old Fort Erie ~ August 12 & 13
The battles of 1814 turned Fort Erie into Canada 's bloodiest battlefield over Canada 's largest annual re-enactment weekend. Over 400 volunteers engage in four battles and conduct demonstrations. A candlelight tour, Sunday memorial service, grand encampment and pyrotechnics make this not only a special event, but a fun educational experience.

Family Bug Safari ~ August 12 & August 19 from 1 - 3 p.m.
Visit the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens and go “on Safari” with Butterfly Conservatory staff to discover and name a variety of insects.

International Plein Air Painters ~ September 8 and 9
Artists from around the world join together in Niagara Falls for the 4 th Annual Worldwide “Paint Out”. Watch master artists paint the unique characteristics of Niagara Falls and the Niagara Parks Commission properties and see their interpretations of this world icon unfold before you.

The Battle of Chippawa ~ July 5
This ceremony will mark the 192 nd Anniversary of the Battle of Chippawa. The first major engagement in 1814 during the War of 1812 saw over 4000 men fight on the fields and in the woods of Samuel Street 's farm.
